“Otto” , “The Traveling Cat” - Otto was a neighbor’s
senior cat whom I was priviledged to take care of once in a while. He would
pose for me anytime, anywhere when I wanted to sketch him. I call him the ‘traveling
cat’ as Otto lived in San Diego and in Tucson and had his own ‘perch’ in
the car. He would always wake up the minute the car was within ½ mile
of either home. Otto made the trip back and forth for years and never complained.
What a companion and friend he was! 16X22 Watercolor on paper. |

“E2D1”, is a small watercolor (5x7) of one of the dear Decorah eagles hatch this spring in Decorah, Iowa. I got totally hooked on a live streaming event from a computer site and research project that studies raptors. The quotation around the edge was borrowed from A.A. Milne and is one of my favorites. Raptor Resource Project has been watching this nest of eagles for several years. Watching this year’s eggs hatch, the parent’s patience, love and devotion through the entire process was incredible. All three eaglets fledged in June, 2011. E2 (second born) was humanely captured in July, 2011, banded and fitted with a transmitter . You can catch up on the events and track her moves at www.raptorresourceproject.org This painting was donated to RRP for their own use and promotion. Check the website for more information | |||
